Lord’s Prayer Project
This page is dedicated to a little project i started in December of 2009. In order to internalize the nature and being of God as well as get in a habit of internalizing prayer I decided to start a project in which I would rewrite the Lord’s Prayer in my own words and in my own context. Since Jesus said “pray like this” I figured I would
. Below you’ll find prayers I have written based on the order and content of the Lord’s Prayer, but in my context. Feel free to read, comment, both, or neither

Lord, It is your name that we call on and your name we depend on
so help us to seek your kingdom and put you first
Help us to pause before action to consider how your will will be done in and through it
We are prone to be bound by fear, forgive our fear and make us bold
When we know you forgive us, it inspires us to release others

Father in all things we know that we need you and you alone . . .
You show us grace by giving us physical evidence of your presence in our lives . . .
Through all things we are reminded that you are making all things new . . .
As we work, play, sleep, and go about our everyday lives, you are reclaiming our lives for Kingdom work . . .
Help us not to be distracted by daily needs, help us to have Your heart and to focus on the Kingdom work first . . .
Either violently or gently through your Spirit, remind us that we are called to point to you . . .
Letting your light shine through us for and to others.
In our unbelief, help us to believe

Father, during this season, we are faced with the with the need to call on you . . .
We call on you because we know that it is only with the coming of your Kingdom that we are make whole . . .
Through your Holy Spirit we feel the old Adam passing away and the new Adam changing our thoughts, desires, and actions . . .
In a way that reflects your very nature . . .
As our thoughts, desires, and actions change – see us through the righteousness of Christ and give us all we need, based on your Kingdom work in our lives.
In our unbelief, help us to believe . . . in our weakness, help us to be strong, in our fear, help us live through your Spirit . . .
Develop in us a Spirit to carry the burdens of other’s weakness as you have carried ours.
Just as you guided Joshua’s footsteps in the defeat of Jericho, guide ours as we know that this will lead us only and confidently to you.
Amen.

“Father God, who rules above all, your name is lifted up today.
Your ways, thoughts, and intentions towards your creation will be seen today in our reality as it is seen in yours
All that we need today will be provided by you
As you provide for us, you remind us of our need to both depend on you and be grateful for your greatest provision – your forgiveness.
Help us to remember that as you have modeled true community for us, that we should model it for others.
Watch and guide our footsteps to avoid tearing down the kingdom.
Help us to build it up.”
